"Health is a mindset.” - Joseph Bismark
As a Director of the QI Group, Joseph Bismark ensures that he is always at his one hundred percent best before he starts working. He says that he is very strict with himself when it comes to his diet and exercise routines. He always finds time to meditate. For him, his health is his biggest tool to achieve more goals. Through example, Joseph Bismark has influenced the employees in the QI Group of Companies to live a healthy lifestyle. He shares his knowledge with the people on how to take care of their health in his article featured in Issue No. 17 of aspIRe Magazine entitled, “Stop Hammering Your Thumb.”
In this article, Joseph Bismark emphasizes that many people take their health for granted. He describes it through the story of a man who would repeatedly go to the doctor for the same reason – pounding his thumb with a hammer. When we get sick, we take some medicine to relieve the pain or get well. After that, when we are already in good condition, we once again forget to take care of ourselves and continue to do the very same things that make us sick over and over again.

Joseph Bismark’s Advice on How to Take Care of One’s Health
How to take control and prevent the abuse of your health and body? There are several factors where we find it hard to avoid doing things that may bring bad effects to our health and bodies. It happens when we allow ourselves to get influenced by people around us, and when they control our actions and decisions. How are we going to win over them? The following are just some of the important points that Joseph Bismark has shared to take control and take good care of one’s health and body:• Make an honest self-assessment to find out what’s making you sick. Chances are you’ll find that what gives you a temporary feeling of goodness is what makes you sick.
• If you’re hanging out with people that influence you to binge drink or smoke, you have the option to either cut ties with them or influence them to commit to a lifestyle change.
• If your weight has come to a point where it’s giving you problems physically and emotionally, you have the option to either live with it like a walking time bomb or deal with it by losing weight by exercising, cutting down on food portions, and keeping oily, fatty foods and carbonated drinks at bay.
• If you have relationships that bring you mental and emotional abuse, you either allow them to continue hurting you or choose to say goodbye and live a happy, stress-free life.

The Importance of Taking Care Of Your Body, V-Con Malaysia 2006
Joseph Bismark points out here that the choice is in our hands to live in good health. It takes self-discipline, determination and motivation to change the kind of lifestyle that we have become used to living. It is all about choosing the best option in life that will help us to become healthier and live longer.
Joseph Bismark also cites an article by Mike Adams entitled, “Good Health is No Accident”, as follows:
“The person believes health is something that happens TO them rather than something that happens THROUGH them. And so, they remain stuck, floundering in a pattern of self-inflicted sickness and disease while hoping that some other organization, government or health care plan will somehow save them.”
Joseph Bismark believes that health is a mindset. It is all about how you value your life. We do not have to rely on doctors and medicines. We should start to value ourselves more now and begin taking steps to a healthy lifestyle. Again, as Joseph Bismark says, “Stop hammering your thumb!”
